Victory is so sweet!
Watching the Ball State Women's Volleyball team victory tonight, you would never know that the team improved their total wins on the season to only four. The Cardinals (4-22 overall, 3 and 10 in the MAC) dominated the Toledo Rockets for the 41st straight time in school history. Tonight was a phenomenal performance. It couldn't have come on any better night. First and foremost, it was a win. It ended the Cardinals nine game losing streak. The win gives Coach Boos' squad some momentum for the conference tournament which starts on November 13. The crowd was enthusiastic all night. There is no better way to send off seniors Angie Parrell and Brittney May in their final game in Worthen Arena. Yes, the season may not have played out the way these two players would have liked, but a total team performance like tonight can help some. Oh, and if you think I am writing the season off for this team, that is absolutely not the case. If this team can pull together an all-around great match like tonight, they can definitely stir things up in the conference tournament. Sixteen-ranked Ohio still looms as do the other quality teams in the MAC, but a conference run for Coach Boos' squad is possible if they can put together a total team effort like they did tonight.
