The Greatest Celebration Ever

"The World's Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party" is the nickname of the annual game between the Georgia Bulldogs and Florida Gators. This year's game was one heck of a party, especially after Georgia's first TD. After running back Knowshon Mareno's 1 yard TD run, the entire Bulldog football team ran into the end zone to celebrate. That's right, the ENTIRE TEAM. The Dogs were simply answering a pre-game challenge from head coach Marc Richt. Here is Richt's explanation about the dance party in the end zone, "I told them if they didn't get a celebration penalty after our first score, all of them would be doing early morning runs." That's right getting punished for not getting a penalty. This is the same Mark Richt that yelled at his team for stomping on the Vanderbilt logo two weeks ago. Yes it seems that Richt is flip-flopping on his views of celebration. But Georgia is a team that should be a team like Vanderbilt every time they play. I remember watching when the Dogs rushed the end zone and started to dance. I thought this was the greatest move the Georgia coaching staff could make. This move completely caught Florida coach Urban Meyer off guard, along with his whole Gators squad. I loved it and thought it was one of the main reasons Georgia won this game.

Another team that I have now complete faith in is...the Oregon Ducks! Dennis Dixon and Jonathon Stewart are the most lethal duo in the country. And after their win 24-17 win over USC, the Ducks are prime for a run to the national title. After an early season loss to Cal, the Ducks have won 3 straight going into this weekend's match-up against the Arizona State Sun Devils. This weekend's winner will be the Pac-10's representative in a BCS bowl this year. Both teams are playing great right now, especially after the Sun Devil's first win against a real team last week against Cal. I'm interested to see how many points are scored with both teams' offenses ranked in the top 20 in scoring. Get ready for a shootout.

Here is this week's BCS top 10:

1. Ohio State
2. Boston College
3. LSU
4. Arizona State
5. Oregon
6. Oklahoma
7. West Virginia
8. Kansas
9. Missouri
10. Georgia

How about West Virginia?? After a loss to South Florida, the Mountaineers have re-grouped and are looking to win the Big East, which I think they can do.

Here is my Heisman top 3:

1. Dennis Dixon (Oregon)
2. Matt Ryan (Boston College)
T3. Glenn Dorsey (LSU)
T3. James Laurinaitis (Ohio State)

Dorset and Laurinaitis have to be in the mix just on the fact that they play on two of the best teams in the country and are one of the best players on their respective teams. Sadly neither of these guys will get much love from voters because a defensive tackle (Dorsey) and linebacker (Laurinaitis) aren't the sexy picks for the Heisman.
